Sobre La Mapocho Cumbia

Our goal is to spread the legacy of cumbia and its culture, mixing different styles from all over the Latin American region with rock, ska, and hip hop. We are a Latin American cumbia group and we have a musical proposal that reflects the voice and sounds of Latin culture. We offer a richness of sounds, textures, rhythms, and melodies that are pulsating and unmatched, along with a playful and energizing stage presence.

Team

The band is composed of five members: Pablo on accordion and lead vocals, Mina on Wiro and lead vocals, Kike on electric bass and backing vocals, Groucho on electric guitar and backing vocals, and Julian on drums.

Experience

We have represented our project on important stages in Barcelona and its surroundings, such as Club Jamboree, Marula Café, Paralel 62, and Razzmatazz. We have also been part of prominent music festivals and local celebrations, both within and outside the region. Additionally, we participate in socially-focused and solidarity events. We also perform for private events such as birthdays, welcome parties, weddings, etc.

Repertoire / service list

Our repertoire is the result of research and compilation of the most representative cumbias from the region, composed by legendary artists of the genre, including the great Andrés Landero. In the repertoire, we also consider different women of cumbia, with the aim of spreading their important musical and artistic role. Some of them are Lila Downs, Selena Quintanilla, and the great Totó La Momposina.

Estimated prices

The base price for a 90-minute concert is €600. It can also be divided into two sets of 45 minutes.
