Sobre Els Delai - Rumba catalana transfronterera
Els Delai is a Catalan rumba band from Figueres that sounds different from any other: it adds a trombone and a tenora, the instrument that gives the cobla its characteristic timbre, to the rhythm of flamenco guitars. The result is a cross-border Catalan rumba with cobla vibes. We started in 2011 as a pure rumba duo and today we are six musicians from Empordà and Vallespir: two guitars and vocals, bass, drums, trombone, and tenora. Along the way, we have recorded two albums, "Pas de por" (2014) and "Alchímia" (2017), with songs like "El Burro Català," "Xisku de Ceret," or "La Cabra Ska," which are very popular at parties in Northern Catalonia. We have been playing for fifteen years on both sides of the Pyrenees: major parties in Camallera, Llers, Vilabertran, or La Selva de Mar, the Rambla of Figueres, the Auditori de Girona, the Feria de Ceret, the Sant Joan festival of the Perpignan City Hall, and the 50th anniversary of La Bressola. We have also performed at the Sala Apolo in Barcelona and at Camp Nou, appeared on the "Rumba a l'estudi" program on TV3, and have done occasional performances in France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Italy. WHAT WE OFFER - A one-and-a-half-hour concert in a single set, featuring original songs in Catalan and the great classics of rumba that everyone dances to. - Ideal for major parties, verbenas, summer concerts, festivals, and outdoor events. - Full band of six musicians for large stages, or duo format for small spaces and tight budgets. - Own backline. The organization provides the stage (minimum 8 × 6 m), sound equipment with a technician, and lighting. - One hour for setup and one hour for soundcheck. - We invoice with VAT to municipalities, entities, and companies. Since we are from Girona, we avoid long trips and hotel nights, which reflects in the budget. Request our dossier and technical rider, and we will prepare a tailored proposal for your event.
Team
Els Delai consists of six musicians from Empordà and Vallespir. Each one brings their background, and together they create the sound of the band: Catalan rumba with cobla influences. DOMI · Flamenco guitar, vocals, and bongos. Founder. He brings creativity and management to the band. He comes from the rumba scene in Barcelona, where he formed the duo Rufino and Don Domingo, which recorded an album with Universal in 2008. He is the author of much of the repertoire and handles bookings. EUDALD · Flamenco guitar and vocals. Co-founder. He adds the rumba flair to the show. He studied flamenco guitar at the Conservatory of Barcelona and is the author of "La Cabra Ska." Along with Domi, he formed the duo that gave birth to Els Delai in 2011. DAVID PUNTUNET · Trombone and backing vocals. He leads the brass section. He is from Reynès, in Vallespir, a music teacher, and trombonist of Cobla Mil·lenària. He co-wrote the song "Xisku de Ceret" with Domi and was the one who brought Jordi into the group. JORDI SALVATELLA · Tenora, sax, and backing vocals. Tenora and sax player, and engineer. His entry into the group brought the authentic sound of the cobla thanks to the tenora, the instrument that today defines the identity of Els Delai. MARTIN CORONEL · Bass and backing vocals. He brings consistency and humility, and takes care of the band's equipment. An Argentine from Buenos Aires, he joined with the second album, "Alchímia." JAVIER PEÑA · Drums. He brings the weight of experience. He was the drummer for Skatalà and Doctor Calypso, and is also a composer. He owns Taverna Pirata in Llançà, where the band often plays. HOW WE WORK - Domi handles bookings: one single point of contact from the first email until the concert day. - Eudald coordinates the technical side with the organization's sound team, based on our rider. - We bring our own backline and in-ears, and set up and soundcheck in two hours. - We invoice with VAT to municipalities, entities, and companies.

ORIGINAL SONGS THAT ARE NOW THE PEOPLE'S Two albums released and songs like "El Burro Català" or "Xisku de Ceret," which are sung at parties in Northern Catalonia. We are not a cover band: we have our own identity and repertoire. 4. CLOSENESS AND ADJUSTED BUDGET We are from Girona. We bring all our backline, set up, and do a soundcheck in two hours, and we invoice with VAT to municipalities, entities, and companies. 6.
