PAZ GUERRA Contrary to what it might seem, it is not a feminine proper name but an oxymoron that tries to describe this duo's particular vision of music, formed in 2019 by Álvaro Mendaña (Vocals and guitar) and Javier Bao “Massai” (Vocals and guitar), both musicians with extensive experience in other bands (Nipati Nipami, Obsession, Narciso busca Piso, General Sherman… etc) With very diverse influences from both sides: Anglo-Saxon pop, singer-songwriter, indie, or country, the band bets on their own acoustic vision, often completely reworking classic pop and rock songs and bringing them to other styles, as well as their commitment to original songs with simple messages and soft, subtle arrangements and very organic sounds, with practically no effects or overproduction, thus trying to escape the concept of a “cover band” Their repertoire ranges from classics of English pop: Beatles, Pink Floyd, Coldplay… to American pop rock like Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac, Roy Orbison, or Johnny Cash, without neglecting national artists.
