Team

Alena Tikhmanovich, graduated with honors from the University of Culture of Belarus as a cellist. She has participated in concerts on prestigious stages such as the Concert Hall of Minsk, the Belarusian National Palace, the Oktaborski Hall in St. Petersburg, or the Rosesia Hall in Moscow. She participates in various Orthodox music festivals. In 2004, she decided to come to Catalonia, where she alternates musical performance with teaching. She is currently a cello and piano teacher at the School of Music of Gironès and actively participates in concerts and cultural events in the Girona region. Ferran Aran, pianist, keyboardist, composer, arranger, and music producer, with extensive experience on the most prominent stages of Catalonia since 1990, studied solfeggio, harmony, and piano at the Isaac Albéniz Conservatory of Girona while specializing in modern music. Founder of the groups F & F Style and Soulsay, he has directed the Rollsband ensemble from the Girona region for over 10 years. A teacher of modern music with an extensive repertoire and a wide range of styles, he performs as a soloist on piano and accompanies singers, guitarists, and saxophonists from national and international backgrounds.

Experience

Josep Manzano has higher studies in guitar from the Conservatory of Music of Liceo in Barcelona. He has performed numerous concerts and recordings for radio and television, both as a soloist and as part of chamber music ensembles or larger instrumental groups. He has recorded albums with flamenco guitarist Xavier Ballesteros and English guitarist Carlos Garcia-Benitez, in addition to participating in various compilation albums. He has toured Bulgaria with Bulgarian flutist Nicolay Yordanov, Italy with flutist Francesca Salvemini, and has worked with flutist Esteve Zulet and the Joan Sadurní Trio. He has collaborated with the poetic-musical group "Dinosaurios" and has been a member of several modern music groups. He currently works with cellist Alena Tikhmanovich and pianist Ferran Aran. He has performed, invited by various festivals and embassies, in addition to Catalonia and the rest of Spain, across Europe, America, and Asia, in countries such as Switzerland, Serbia, England, Germany, Italy, France, Bulgaria, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Kuwait. His discography as a soloist consists of five CDs, some of which contain world premiere recordings: "Tàrrega and his legacy" (2002), "Tàrrega: The 35 preludes and studies", "Melancolie - 19th Century Girona Guitar Composers", "Intimate Recital" and "Americana". In 2014, he received an "Artistic and Professional Recognition" from the organization of the International Guitar Festival Villa de Aranda for his concert career and promotion of the guitar. As a composer, he has published with La Ma de Guido "Six Easy Studies for Guitar". He is a guitar teacher at the School of Music of Gironès, where he carries out extensive teaching work, and in 2004 he initiated the Girona-Costa Brava Guitar Festival. ---

Repertoire / service list

As a solo guitarist, I propose a journey through classical and popular pieces from the last two centuries, from fashionable dances of the Romanticism of the 19th century, such as the waltz or polka, to pop music themes by authors like Carlos Santana or Eric Clapton, passing through jazz or Latin music. The repertoire includes pieces by composers with works for guitar as recognized as Tàrrega, Josep Ferrer or Falla, and jazz classics like Django Reinhardt. Possibility of custom programs. The cello duo proposal is a journey through time that allows us to enjoy an extensive combination of styles, from Baroque to the last century. We will be able to listen to famous works by composers such as Pachelbel, Bach, Burgmuller, Albeniz, Granados, etc. The proposal of piano and electric guitar offers everything from Rhythm and Blues to Rock'n'Roll, with figures like Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Eric Clapton, The Shadows, Santana, among others, serving as inspiration for this duo that, with meticulous guitar picking and great versatility of piano and voice, shows us a great fusion and synchronization on stage, creating a pleasant and beautiful atmosphere for all those who want to reminisce about what is known as "one of the best stages of 20th-century music." ---

Equipment, setup and transport

I have simple equipment, one consisting of a 150w battery-powered speaker and another setup with a 12-channel mixer and two 500w speakers. For the electric guitar, I use a 50w amplifier and another 80w. If the performance is in a small venue and quiet, it can be played without amplification. ---
